Sovathara Neang
Sovathara Neang (Assistant Treasurer) says he is pleased to join CANS because the organisation’s objectives and ongoing activities are helpful for Cambodian students studying in Australia as well as other Khmer overseas students in building professional network and support.
He is currently working as a broadcaster and a consultant with the Solutions and Services for Development Co., Ltd.
Sovathara obtained a master degree in Public Policy from Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore many years ago. He also holds double degrees in Law and Business Management from Cambodia.
He has professional experience working with NGOs in the field of project management, implementation, monitoring and evaluation with bilateral and multilateral development partners in collaboration with the governments.
Sovathara had been working as a project leader related to democracy, human rights, and justice issues in Cambodia. He also has extensive experience in organizational capacity building, training of trainer, and research on civic engagement, decentralisation, rule of law, human rights and democracy.
