Veha La
Veha La (Assistant Secretary) is currently studying a Master Degree of Spatial Information Science at the University of Melbourne, Australia, under Australian Development Scholarship (ADS) schema.
Vehe got a Bachelor Degree of Land Management and Land Administration from the Royal University of Agriculture, Cambodia, in 2008, and specialized in Geographic Information System and Technology (GIS/T).
During the study, he’s been awarded several scholarships, such as Peace Scholarship Program to study at the University of Tasmania, Australia, from July 2006 to July 2007, and Japan International Cooperation Foundation to study at the Royal University of Agriculture, Cambodia, from 2003 to 2006.
Before coming to Australia again in 2012, Veha has applied his GIS/T skills at several workplaces in Cambodia including GERES Cambodia, Ministry of Land Management, Urban Planning and Construction, IP/GOPA Consortium, and Danish Red Cross.
Veha hopes to pursuit his dream of developing more human resource in areas of GIS/T through his own GIS/T center in Cambodia, and other training or learning institutions.
Veha strongly believes in CANS’s slogan “TOGETHER WE CAN”. He’s confident that CANS members will voluntarily work together to achieve one of the main CANS’ objectives which is “to help needy and disadvantaged children in Cambodia in areas of education, health and emergency relief”.
This objective is consistent with what he chooses to believe which is “God blesses you with these good feelings because he wants you to share them with people around you, particularly with the less-fortunate ones”.
